Mike....
Currently, he is coaching girls high school golf. His 4th season this Fall. Coaching gives him a chance to hit a few golf balls since he doesn't take much time to golf otherwise.
He planted 12 apple trees this spring and continues to care for all the other trees and lawn. The rain is definitely welcomed and makes watering much easier.
He has been busy keeping his wood pile full for the coming winters. You can never have enough wood when it is your main heating source.
A couple weeks ago we were able to drive on the MIS track. It was scheduled and paid for so we were hoping for nice weather and sure enough it was a cool, sunny day! Ken(Mike's dad), Lleyton and I rode while Mike drove. We went 6 laps at 70-80 mph. Mike was happy to be able to take his 1971 Grand Prix around the track. We all enjoyed it!
Mike is teaching P.E. in the elementary (K-5) this year at Concord. This is his 12th year teaching.
Pam...
I won't mention my everyday basic 'chores' around the house or how it seems I put away the same toys, clothes, books....4 or 5 times a day. I won't write about how it seems like I am preparing food, putting away food, buying food, or cleaning up after eating food most of my day too. (or so it seems)
I am very thankful that I am able to be with my boys everyday and am able to share new experiences with them. I guess the food and the basic clean up is to be expected. So what do I do with all my free time?
At the beginning of 2010 a friend had an idea of walking/running 500 miles during the year. I stole her idea and thought I would attempt to set that as my 2010 goal. This may not sound like much but I knew if I chose to do this it would keep me accountable all year. 500 miles works out to be 1.37 miles per day. That isn't much until you get behind. And I am behind. I currently have 288 miles done and have to somehow get the rest completed before 2011. I am going to complete this goal. I am hoping the cooler temps allow me to get out more since running in hot, humid weather was not welcomed.
I am a bit addicted to cutting coupons and finding great deals. I usually have a weekly trip to Rite Aid where I score several items for FREE or even make some money off of Rite Aid. I won't bore you will all the details but if you want to get most of your personal items for free let me know. I get some great deals at Meijer as well. This does take some time and organization of coupons. My mom and sisters have benefited from my obsession since I have given them many free items. I have a box that I fill and take to the homeless shelter as well. I feel like I am making a difference outside our house for others by using my time and resources. And of course, we also have a good stockpile of (free) items ourselves. :)
I also sell items on eBay but haven't sold recently. In the next couple of months I plan to start selling items again. Just need some more time.
As you know some of my free time goes to this blog. I wish I had more time to read blogs, since there are some entertaining and informative ones out there, as well as contribute to my own more but I will have time in the future to do all of that ....right?
